*Varsity Lady Bulldog Pictures will be on March 9th during school.
*The Lady Bulldogs finish the season with a 19-7 record after losing to Bartelso 31-28 in the SIJHSAA Class "S" Championship Game. The Lady Bulldogs played well defensively to remain in the game. Offensively, we could not find our shooting touch. All in all, it was a fantastic season. Congratulations and THANK YOU to all the Lady Bulldogs: Jessica Albers, Erica Lampe, Katie Haake, Paetyn Albers, Kristin Mattson, Abby Hellmann, Margo Lampe, Sophie Kuhl, Ashleigh Kohrmann, Erica Hitpas, Sara Kniepmann, and Rylie Johnson (who helped during the month that Kristin Mattson was injured.)
*VICTORY against St. Joe-Olney The Lady Bulldogs used a stifling team defense to defeat St. Joe-Olney 42-15. (The score was 24-0 at halftime). The Lady Bulldogs will now play Bartelso on Saturday (28th) at 2:00 (bus-12:15) for the SIJHSAA Class "S" Championship. There will be a light lunch at 11:30 in the school cafeteria. The parents have also reserved the basement of the Legion for a get together after the game. I believe the fire trucks will escort the team through town before stopping at the school for a short trophy presentation. Considering how far this team has come over the past 3 years, they deserve all the accolades they are receiving. Speaking of accolades, the girls will be recognized at halftime of the Lady Cougar Basketball game on Monday (30th) at Central High School. They will need to leave the Boy's Regional Championship as soon as it is over. It will be rush, rush, rush!!
*FINAL FOUR!! The Lady Bulldogs reached the final four of the SIJHSAA Championships by defeating St. Mary's Mt. Vernon 38-24. The Lady Bulldogs will play St. Joe of Olney on Thursday at 6:00 (bus-4:15). Congratulations Girls for a job well (almost) done!! KICK SOME BOOTY!!!
*REGIONAL CHAMPIONS!!! Congratulations to the Lady Bulldogs (17-6) for capturing the Region 5 SIJHSAA Championship. The Bulldogs defeated Albers/Damiansville 34-25. The crowd (noise) was unbelievable. The next game will be January 21st at Rend Lake at 2:30 against St. Mary's Mt. Vernon. The bus will leave school at 12:45.
*THANK YOU to all the Varsity and Junior Varsity Girls for the St. Francis of Assisi Statue. My family and I appreciate your caring thoughts during our time of sadness. I will proudly display it in my landscaping. I also want to the THANK the Varsity Boys basketball team for coming to the funeral home after a hard fought basketball game. It was not necessary but very much appreciated!!
