We live in a world that is constantly changing. Our society is much more advanced and complex today as opposed to when we were children. As educators, we have to change with the times if we want to meet the needs of our students and prepare them for life in the real world. The face of education has definitely evolved since our ‘glory days’ in grade school, and the classroom looks and operates much differently as a result. We want you to understand those changes, what they look like in the classroom, and why they are being implemented. Please consider joining us for our series of Parent Workshops that will be held in September.
Tuesday, September 5 K-2nd Grade Parent Workshop
Tuesday, September 12 3rd-5th Grade Parent Workshop
Tuesday, September 19 6th-8th Grade Parent Workshop
Topics to be addressed: Standards, Student Led Learning, Collaborative Groups, Research-Based Strategies, Differentiated Instruction, Student Engagement, Growth Mindset, etc.
Each session will focus on the same topics but will be geared to the grade levels being targeted.
We plan to personalize this learning experience for each attendee, so we are asking you to RSVP if you plan to attend. To RSVP, simply email firstname.lastname@example.org or call the school office at 523-4253. Be sure to specify which grade level workshop(s) you plan to attend.
In order to provide our students with the best learning experience possible, we need to be united as a school community. Please consider attending one of these parent workshops to learn about the what, how, and why behind teaching and learning in today’s classrooms.
