Reading Lab
We realize reading is essential for success in every academic area. With that in mind, we are offering Reading Lab once again this school year. Beginning August 24, children from 1st-4th grade and 5th-8th grade will have the chance to stay after school every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to silent read, partner read, or simply take Accelerated Reading tests. The Reading Lab will take place from 3:05-4:00p.m. Students in grades 1-4 will report to Mrs. Lueking’s classroom while students in grades 5-8 will report to Mrs. Zurliene’s classroom. The Reading Lab is a great resource that will encourage reading. We will be available to oversee the students. Children will need to bring their own library/AR books.
A Reading Lab permission slip was sent home with all first through eighth grade students on Thursday, August 19. We kindly ask that you complete the form for your student(s) indicating whether or not your student(s) will be participating in Reading Lab this year. Please be sure to indicate how your student(s) will be returning home as we want to ensure that everyone get home safely.
This is a great opportunity for your child(ren) to take time to sit down and read a good book. With today’s hectic schedules, any additional reading time will be beneficial. Please join us.
