GES Week in Review ~ August 20-27
Now that the 2010-11 school year has begun, the calendar is filled with important events. Please mark your calendar with the following important dates for August 20-27.
Friday, August 20
*Today is our first full day of school. School will begin at 8:30 and dismiss at 3:05.
Tuesday, August 24
*A bullying assembly called Speaking Up for Those Who Won’t Speak Up for Themselves will be held in the gym this morning. Grades PreK through four will attend from 8:30-9:20. Grades five through eight will attend from 9:25-10:15. Parents/Guardians are welcome to join us for the assembly.
*Reading Lab will be held after school today from 3:05-4:00 for all students in first through eighth grade.
*A fifth and sixth grade girl’s midget basketball meeting will be held in the cafeteria this evening at 6:00. Interested students and their parents/guardians are encouraged to attend.
*A Beginner Band meeting will be held in the Band Room this evening at 7:00. All fourth and fifth grade students interested in joining the band this school year are encouraged to attend with a parent/guardian.
Wednesday, August 25
*Reading Lab will be held after school today from 3:05-4:00 for all students in first through eighth grade.
Thursday, August 26
*Reading Lab will be held after school today from 3:05-4:00 for all students in first through eighth grade.
*A Strategic Planning Meeting will be held in the Conference Room at 6:00 this evening.
Friday, August 27
*At the end of the day today, the students will have successfully completed their first full week of school. They will be exhausted and ready to sleep in on Saturday. Take time to enjoy the weekend with your student(s).
Miscellaneous Information
*Reading Lab permission forms were sent home with all students in grades 1-8 on Thursday, August 19. Please complete the form for your student(s) and return to school by Tuesday, August 24.
